Dr. Madeson Basie

Dr. Madeson Basie is a lifelong dental health professional who chose his career path 53 years ago. With a strong belief that oral care was the gateway to whole-body health, he embraces dentistry with recognizable passion and dedication.
Born and raised in small-town Alberta, he attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton, graduating in 1967 with a Science degree ( B.Sc. ), majoring in zoology and analytical chemistry, and completed dental training, earning a dental degree ( D.D.S. ) in 1971.

Upon graduation , Dr Basie moved to Vancouver where his dental career has flourished ever since, applying his energies to learn how he could contribute to peoples well-being through dentistry. His path led to extensive studies in gnathology and occlusion, temporomandibular jaw joint health, orthodontic orthopaedics, comprehensive full mouth rehabilitation, ( including tooth replacement with implants) , airway and sleep medicine; all mentored by recognized world experts in each field .

Having discovered in the early 1970’s that there was a connection between oral health and whole body health, Dr Basie pioneered the process of integrating natural healing advances ( acupuncture , bioenergetics, nutrition, et al ) into his practice , while helping to facilitate the journey of health and wellness for his patients.

All this with one guiding principle : To help people to spend as little time in the dental chair as possible for the rest of their life , after helping them to achieve and maintain maximum dental health .

Dr Basie’s unique approach recognizes the mind-body-emotion-spirit interplay of the patient’s journey to wholeness and wellness.
